My wife and I, have never felt so safe anywhere in the world before. Getafe is not geared up for tourism, and I hope that it remains this way. As soon as we attempted to speak Spanish everyone we spoke to were very polite, helpful and friendly. Hostal Carlos, was exceptional. Location of it was easy to find away from the main road far enough to make it quiet. From the outside, it looked like a typical well kept unassuming building for the area. Once inside it proved to be well above expectations and spotless clean. Sometimes other guests were a little noisy, but that is fault of guests not Hostsl Carlos 111. Fantastic stay for the week.

We found the hotel to be in a convenient place for travelling to Madrid and the nearby cities of Toledo by coach and Aranjuez by train . We had breakfast each day , Spanish continental with a fair choice , served in a pleasant dining room. Our room was serviced every day to a good standard . Getafe was bigger than we expected , we found plenty of bars in the area , there are some restaurants close by with a limited choice but no doubt there are plenty of others if researched . We did go to the Mexican nearby on 2 nights , La Vengenza de Malinche , which we really enjoyed particularly the Mariachi band on Saturday night . Carlos III is a good budget 2 star Hotel an easy train ride from Atocha station and Central Madrid and a simple 2 train ride to the airport changing at Atocha . Getafe Centro station is about a 5 minute walk once you get your bearings , Carlos III is in a narrow side street .

This is a fabulous option if you don't want to be in the centre. It's super easy to get into the city centre via Metro. The station is a short walk away. It's in a lovely neighbourhood which is great to come back too after a day of sightseeing with the masses. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable. Shutters and curtains makes it great for sleeping and adjusting timezones.

Ideal hotel , staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money .. lovely European buffet breakfast with something for all . Good quality and enough for all. Reception open 24 hours . It's asking alley but very safe.. lovely little bar 100m El Piano .

The hotel was super clean and modern!! I was surprised at how nice the room was. Reminded me of something I would have stayed at in North America. Breakfast options were good and someone was at the front desk 24/7 to assist with any needs. Taking the Cercania into the center of Madrid was super easy and convenient. The hotel was a 6 minute walk to the station.
